Albion is the oldest name for England — used by Shakespeare, invoked by Blake, carried through centuries of poetry as a word for something older and more elemental than a nation. It speaks of chalk cliffs and green fields, of a country that existed before its borders were drawn. The 'Albion Pearl' Edition takes that name and makes it material: a hand-embroidered England football jersey in which every technique used belongs to the vocabulary of fine craft rather than sportswear production.

The composition opens like a coat of arms in bloom. Two mirrored arcs of botanical embroidery extend from the centre of the chest — one curving left toward the kit logo, one opening right around the Three Lions badge — creating a symmetrical frame that reads as both garland and wing, both garden and heraldry. The palette is unlike anything else in the VOLTA catalogue: rose poudré, sage green, powder blue, champagne gold, and soft lilac, worked across a pure white base that gives each element maximum luminosity.

What distinguishes this limited edition England embroidered concept jersey technically is the layering of three distinct craft methods in a single piece. The floral bodies are worked in raised stumpwork — threads looped and cut to create three-dimensional pom-pom structures that stand away from the fabric surface. The leaf and branch elements are executed in goldwork: real metallic sequins and twisted gold thread, couched and anchored by hand, catching the light as the piece moves. And centred in every flower, anchoring every cluster, are genuine pearl beads — hand-sewn individually, each one a material reference to the edition's name.

The Three Lions badge is reimagined entirely in iridescent thread: lions worked in holographic silk across a mother-of-pearl ground, the shield border outlined in cream satin stitch. No version of this badge has been produced at this level of material complexity in football apparel. The chest logo mirrors this iridescence — holographic foil inset, encircled by the full botanical composition as though the flowers grew around it rather than beside it.

This is the most technically demanding piece in the VOLTA catalogue, requiring between 25 and 40 hours of atelier work per jersey. It is a hand-embroidered England football art jersey in the fullest sense: pearl beading, goldwork, stumpwork, and iridescent thread combined in a single object registered as a work of art at the INPI.
