The Black Forest — Schwarzwald in German — is not simply a place. It is a visual language: dense canopy, dark undergrowth, shafts of light breaking through fir and beech, the forest floor carpeted with wildflowers that push through the shadow in saturated colour. The 'Schwarzwald' Edition translates that landscape directly onto a football jersey — not as illustration, but as textile and thread.

The base fabric does the first work. An all-over forest-print pattern in deep teal and black — organic, ink-bleached, alive — creates the ground from which everything else grows. The texture shifts from midnight black to electric teal depending on the light, mimicking the way a forest canopy moves between deep shadow and sudden brightness. It is one of the most visually complex base fabrics in the VOLTA catalogue, and it was chosen precisely because it requires no border, no frame: the hand-embroidered Germany concept jersey begins before the first stitch is placed.

On the left chest, the folk bouquet announces itself without apology. Two large fuchsia blooms — worked in dense satin stitch with petals layered from dark magenta at the base to vivid rose at the edges, centres filled with gold thread — are the centrepiece of a composition drawn directly from Volksstickerei, the folk embroidery tradition of the Black Forest and Bavarian regions. Gold satin-stitch leaves with fine vein detail extend from coiling green stems, the whole cluster sitting above the kit logo in a composition that recalls the embroidered panels of traditional German costume: precise, celebratory, unafraid of colour.

On the right, the DFB badge is encircled by a continuous golden botanical crown — a single branching arabesque of gold leaves and coiling stems that completes a full orbit around the badge, punctuated at three points by white daisies with raised yellow centres. Four embroidered stars arc above the badge, each worked individually in gold thread. The effect is ceremonial: the badge treated not as a graphic element but as a centrepiece deserving its own botanical frame, in the manner of a heraldic seal.

This hand-embroidered Germany football jersey brings two things into contact that are rarely placed together: the raw visual energy of contemporary dye-print sportswear and the disciplined decorative language of Central European folk craft. The tension between them — the teal forest ground and the fuchsia bloom, the tie-dye texture and the gold arabesque — is the work. Each piece requires between 10 and 18 hours of atelier production and is hand-stitched in our Paris and Versailles ateliers.

The 'Schwarzwald' Edition is a registered work of art, produced in a strictly limited edition Germany embroidered football shirt and supplied with a certificate of authenticity. Once the drop closes, it will not be restocked.
