Haiti '1804' Edition
Product description
In 1804, Haiti became the first Black republic in history — the only nation born from a successful slave revolution, the only country that defeated Napoleon's army and took its freedom by force. Every Haitian carries that year. It is not a date in a textbook; it is an inheritance. The '1804' Edition is built from that inheritance: a hand-embroidered Haiti football jersey that places the full weight of that history onto a football kit for the first time.
The base does not soften the subject. An all-over graphic print in deep charcoal and black — angular, fractured, kinetic, drawn from the visual vocabulary of street art and urban resistance — covers the entire body of the jersey, front and back. It is not decorative: it is agitated. The shapes press against each other, splinter, reform. It is the correct ground for what sits above it.
At the centre of the chest, the Haitian proverb "MEN ANPIL CHAY PA LOU" is embroidered in full across the torse — many hands, the load is light — worked in off-white brush-lettered thread that occupies the full width of the jersey with the authority of a declaration. This is not a slogan placed on a shirt. It is the founding principle of Haitian collective identity, the phrase that carried people through revolution, through earthquake, through every crisis that followed, embroidered by hand in our Paris atelier in the same city where Haitian independence was announced to the world and where Napoléon signed the decree that Haitians defeated.
Below the proverb, the figurative embroidery begins. Five white silhouettes stand at the hem — a group of figures rendered in dense fill stitch, their postures differentiated, their bodies upright. At the centre of the group, one figure raises a pole above their head. From that pole, the Haitian flag flies: blue above, red below, worked in satin stitch with the flag's fringe trailing in loose red thread — tattered, wind-torn, still raised. The combination of the standing figures and the raised flag is the oldest image in Haitian visual memory, and it has never appeared on a football jersey at this level of craft.
This limited edition Haiti embroidered football jersey is the most politically and emotionally charged piece in the VOLTA catalogue. It does not reference culture through flowers or botanical motifs. It references history through figures, through text, through a flag worked in thread. It is a hand-embroidered Haiti World Cup 2026 concept jersey that asks the game to hold something larger than the game.
Each piece requires between 10 and 20 hours of atelier work and is produced in our Paris and Versailles ateliers. It is a registered work of art, produced in a strictly limited run and supplied with a certificate of authenticity. Once the edition closes, it will not be restocked.

How it works ?
Every VOLTA drop starts with a single question: which jersey deserves to become art?
We carefully select only the most culturally significant kits — the ones that carry the weight of a city, a fanbase, a generation. Once a base jersey is chosen, our artisans across our three ateliers in Paris and Versailles begin experimenting with embroidery concepts — testing compositions, thread densities, and floral arrangements until only one design survives. The one that makes the jersey more iconic than it already was.
Every design is produced in strictly limited quantities and entirely hand-embroidered across our ateliers in Paris and Versailles, France. No machines. No shortcuts. No mass production. Every piece feels different because every piece is different — that is not a flaw, that is the point.
When your VOLTA jersey sells out, it is retired permanently. No restocks. No reprints. Just the original, handmade piece — yours.
